The main steamboat service on the St John's River was operated by the Clyde Line which operated sea going passenger and freight services between major cities on the eastern seaboard, initially with paddle steamers. Latterly it was only services into the Florida interior from the state's main city and transportation hub, Jacksonville, as far as Lake Monroe which were paddle steamer operated. The company came under CW Morse's Consolidated Steamship conglomerate in 1907 but on the company's bankruptcy a year later was bought out and operated under the Clyde Line name for many years.

At Lake Buena Vista FL   (Walt Disney World)

Side wheel steamboats built for use at Disneyworld resort, Florida initially as as transport between the car parks and the Magic Kingdom entrance nd for evening cruises for resort residents after the early evening closure of the Magic Kingdom theme park, but on the introduction of screw-propelled vessels based on the design of the San Francisco car ferry Eureka from 1972, they were used for cruises througout the day and from 1974, to Treasure Island
They were based on the PS Francis Skiddy of 1851 which had served in California
The cruises ran on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake

The opening of EPCOT Centre in 1982 with its longer opening hours reduced the demand for the evening cruises. The Southern Seas (II) contnued in service but primarily on charters.
