NORTH KOREA
Pyongyang I

On first inspection one could be forgiven for thinking that the photos were taken somewhere near Dresden on the Elbe - but this paddler is in Pyongyang, North Korea. It is built to a design based on the Elbe paddlers, with the isolationist communist state taking help from the former German Democratic Republic when it came to building a vessel for charter excursions on the river Taedong.
It is understood to have been built in 1985 and is a motor paddler.
Since these photos were taken it has been modified with a glass-enclosed upper deck with new wheelhouse above and the funnel removed (probably 2010-15 period)
