Purchased by the Pointon family
in 1968, this laid-up and rotting vessel re-emerged to serve the
growing tourist trade in 1978 with a diesel power unit replacing the
steam engines dating from 1881. Rothbury now operates a varied
programme of cruises from Mildura, including longer day trips to the
Golden River Zoo and to Trentham Winery. A weekly evening dinner
cruise is offered, and with the longer day cruises being weekly only,
she is available for charters and to substitute for her fleetmate PS
Melbourne when required.
