InTramCities with Gordon Stewart : Closed tramway Alignments
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Tracks on the north side (Mozes en Aaronstraat) and south side (Paleisstraat) of Dam Square : Closed on 8th June 2018 : photographed on 29th March, 1st April 2007 and 30th September 2017
Route
14 was the one tram line which crossed the city centre from west to
east. As a result of the resulting route reorganisation, both termini
(Slotermeer and Flevopark) lost their direct connections to the
city centre. Major central city traffic nodes Waterlooplein and
Rembrandtplein lost their direct connections to the western part of the
city.
The
route itself disappeared from the western part of the city. From the
east the route was diverted along Damrak to Centraal Station. One
change was the abandonment of the eastern terminus at Flevopark (now
served by line 8 only) with line 14 running outbound only from
Alexanderplein as far as Molukkenstraat, returning via
Muiderpoortstation, Linnaeusstraat/Wittenbachstraat and 1e van
Swindenstraat.
