1969 BASIC ROSTER  : Taken from the Caledonian Steam Packet Co timetables by Gordon Stewart

In 1969, Queen Mary was still the "All the Way" boat, running from Glasgow, just as she had done for Williamson-Buchanan Steamers in 1933, her maiden season.

On weekends, she began her cruises at Gourock, the main base of the Caledonian Steam Packet Company and operated further afield than her weekday crise to the Kyles of Bute with time ashore at Tighnabruaich.

On Sundays she sailed around Bute, outward via Garroch Head and back via the Kyles but without calling at Tighnabruaich. Saturdays alternated between another trip round Bute, this time outward via the Kyles and extending the cruise to Tarbert Bay at the entrance to Loch Fyne, and the cruise around Ailsa Craig, far out in the Firth beyond Ayr.

The CSP used a photo of Queen Mary on the front of their leaflets - this one was on the leaflet giving times and prices of steamer services from Wemyss Bay, Largs, Fairlie and Millport.

The fare for the cruise to Tarbert Bay from Largs was 10/6  ( 52.5 pence in today's money) and 12/6 (62.5 pence) for the Ailsa Craig trip.
