Side-Wheeled Paddle Steamers
USA
It is believed that there are no genuine side-wheel paddle steamers in operation in the USA
There
are numerous modern diesel powered paddle ships in the USA mostly of
modern build, mostly with a stern wheel, but usually with auxiliary
screws or thrusters. These have been built for the modern tourist
market and generally in retro-style.
Operational paddle ferry (ex-Steamer)
One
genuine working ship built as a steamer in 1935 built converted to
diesel in 1947 is the small car-ferry Boone No7 which runs on the
Anderson Ferry across the Ohio River at Hebron, Kentucky
