Bodmer, a local craftsman, built the 21.4 metre long Stephanie. His
biggest problem was that the engine, ordered from Englandm was not
delivered due to financial issues and a replacement was built at
Bodmer's own yard. It proved not to be powerful enough for the ship,
taking four hours to cross from Konstanz to Meersburg on her maiden
voyage and breaking down on the return leg. The ship was laid up and
Bodmer left the city of Konstanz. The vessel was scrapped in 1821
