Memnon was built for Thomas Cook in 1904 and sailed for them until the end of October 1948 when it was sold to His Excellency Aly Maher Pacha.
She is 131 ft x 19 ft in dimension and on construction her engine was rated at 150 horse power. She had accommodation for 19 passengers
Memnon starred as PS Karnak in the 1978 film of Agatha Christie's novel Death on the Nile starring Peter Ustinov as the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot.
Memnon was in the fleet of Seti Cruises and was showing
on their website as "under refurbishment".
Work  stalled and, in partially deconstructed form, she was laid up and offered for sale.

Latest status : The ship was seen at Maadi Shipyard in April 2018 - cut into two sections
