Featuring the
heritage tram service between Tunel and Taksim Square featuring trams
47+418 and 223+411. The 1.6 km line, which runs along the busy
shopping pecinct of Istiklal Caddesi and is single track with a
central passing loop, was opened on 29th December 1990. At Tunel
there is a stub terminus with interchange with the steep underground
rail line to the ferry terminal on the Golden Horn opened in 1873. A
future metro line will pass Taksim. The trams date from 1914 to 1928,
preserved from the former tramways which closed in 1966
Also included is one view of the Istanbul tramway's city-centre
terminus at Sirkeci
