Istanbul, Turkey : 9th November, 1994
Featuring the heritage tram service between Tunel and Taksim Square featuring trams 47+418 and 223+411. The 1.6 km line, which runs along the busy shopping pecinct of Istiklal Caddesi and is single track with a central passing loop, was opened on 29th December 1990. At Tunel there is a stub terminus with interchange with the steep underground rail line to the ferry terminal on the Golden Horn opened in 1873. A future metro line will pass Taksim. The trams date from 1914 to 1928, preserved from the former tramways which closed in 1966
