Budapest, Hungary : September 20th, 2026
Photographs taken between Baross ter and Blaha Lujza ter along Festetics Gyorgy utca, Fiumei utca, Teleki Laszlo ter  and Nepszinhaz utca. These routes are shorter inner suburban routes in the south of the city and feature a range of older rolling stock : Budapest's traditional articulated Ganz trams, twin sets of four-axle Tatra trams and the double-articulated trams bought second-hand from Hannover. Both routes termini abut other major transport routes : the busy inner orbital line at Blaha Lujza ter and the metro and rail services at Keleti pu alongside Baross ter. This busy road junction was once also a busy tram interchange, but no longer following metro construction (with trams along Rakoczi utca and Kerepesi utca removed in 1972) and the withdrawal of service trams from Thokoly utca in 1997. This route was disconnected and partially covered  over after a final  charter run in  2003. The outer part of this street, beyond Zuglo, has been turned into a busway
Photo : Former Hannover trams on route 24 close to its city terminus. 1586 is heading south on Fiumei utca approching Dologhaz utca tram stop whilst 1567 is turning into Festetics Gyorgy ut on its final approach to Keleti pu. tram stop at Baross ter. Both trams are from Hannover's 6000 Duewag-built series, delivered to the German city between 1975 and 1978 and operating in Budapest since 2001. The city later purchased more of this design, built by Linke-Hoffmann-Busch between 1978 and 1982, and operational as the 16xx series since 2012.
